Trash Services

The Village of Richfield and Rumpke offer trash service to Richfield residents. Trash service starts at 7 am and ends by sunset. All solid waste and recyclables must be at the street curb for collection by 7am.

Recycle containers are provided by Rumpke and collection is weekly.

Textile recycling is provided the same day as you normal trash/recycle pickup. Bags are provided by Simple Recycling.

Holiday Collections

Collections will resume the day following the holiday and be delayed one day after the holiday. See

Example: the holiday is on a Monday, the Monday's routes will be collected on Tuesday and so on until Friday's route is completed on Saturday. If the Holiday is on a weekend no service interruption will occur. 

Larger Items

For larger pickup items, or bigger than normal trash items, please call Rumpke at 800-828-8171 before your trash day to notify them of your item. Large fabric items, including mattress, pillows, furniture, etc.,  must be  wrapped in plastic or they will not be picked up. 

Reporting Missed Pickups

To Report a missed pickup, please call Rumpke at 800-828-8171. *Please note that they have up to 48 hours from receiving the call to pickup the missed items.

Residents can typically recycle the following items:

  • Plastic bottles and jugs
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel cans and lids
  • Paperboard (like cereal boxes)
  • Cardboard
  • Office paper
  • Envelopes and junk mail
  • Newspapers, magazines and inserts
  • Telephone books and catalogs
  • Cartons
***Recycle containers are the property of Rumpke and are to stay at the residence, do not take them with you if you move.
