UPDATE: Brecksville Road Closure - Townsend Road to 200 yards north of the I-77 bridge over 21.
NOTICE: Due to some unknown utilities and underground obstructions being hit while lowering the road that is delaying the full opening. That being said, we believe we will be to a point where we can accommodate emergency vehicles sometime next week. We will be in contact when we have a more concrete date/time for re-establishing emergency vehicle access. Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it. Timothy Sturges-District 12 Office of Construction, ODOT.
ODOT District 12 is in charge of the widening of I-77, they informed the Village two years ago that they would be lowering 21 in that area. What they didn't tell us is when they would start. The first we heard of the August 8th closing was Friday, July 28th. The Police Chief, Fire Chief, Service Director, Assistant Chief and a LT on the Brecksville Police Department met with ODOT and went over the many scenarios. Leaving one lane of the road open would cause delays of up to 120 days. We all agreed that the best and least intrusive way would be complete road closure for 45 days.
All TRUCKS will have to use the 77 to Wheatley corridor.
AUTOS alternate routes are: Townsend Road to Snowville Road to Brecksville Road -OR- Brush Road to Black Road to Boston Mills Road to Brecksville Road.
