Trash Services
The Village of Richfield and Rumpke offer trash and recycling services to Richfield residents. Trash service starts at 7 am and ends by sunset.
- Please bag all trash.
- All solid waste and recyclables must be at the street curb for collection by 7am.
- Recycle containers are provided by Rumpke and collection is weekly.

Please leave your recycling loose and do not bag.

***Recycle containers are the property of Rumpke and are to stay at the residence, do not take them with you if you move.
Rumpke services does NOT occur on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Collections will resume the following day and service will be delayed by one day during the rest of the week.
Example: If the holiday is on a Monday, then Monday's routes will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday's routes will be collected on Wednesday and so on until Friday's route is completed on Saturday. Rumpke would then return to its regular collection schedule the following week. If the Holiday is on a weekend, no service interruption will occur.

For larger pickup items, or bigger than normal trash items, please call Rumpke at 800-828-8171 at least 48 hours before your trash day to notify them of your item. Large fabric items, including mattress and upholstered furniture, must be wrapped and sealed in plastic or they will not be picked up.

ReWorks Recycling Days & Household Hazardous Waste Collections
ReWorks, the solid waste management authority for Summit County, is hosting events to collect materials that are recyclable beyond your home recycling cart. They accept materials including televisions, laptops, cell phones, tablets, VCR/DVD players, string lights (No LED strips), glass bottles and jars, cooking oil, styrofoam, and campaign signs.
These events are available to Summit County residents and businesses ONLY.

Simple Recycling - Clothing/Textiles/Shoe Recycling
We still participate with Simple Recycling for curbside clothing/textile/shoe recycling, however the process has changed. They no longer do automatic weekly pickups, you must schedule your pickup through their website.
